Expedited delivery is a strong point of Scale Reproductions. Combine the craftsmen and the technology, and our models and replicas can be produced very quickly. Our typical lead-time is 120 days. We encourage our customers not to wait until the last minute to place an order, however we can meet practically any deadline.

What type of materials are used in Scale Reproductions' models?

Scale Reproductions is in the forefront of model creation worldwide using the latest space age materials and technology. Every project is built to last. We use a large variety of materials each selected for its special purpose, including; plastics, fiberglass, wood as well as bronze/brass where its use is appropriate or required by our clients.

What is the pricing structure?

Pricing is done by estimating. When a project's drawing, photos or sketches are received; they are brought before our staff for input. An estimate for time and materials is proposed. Prices and availability of materials are researched. When all these project items are calculated a total project cost is determined. This pricing method is the same for all of our customers. Our goal is to keep our business competitive for years to come, while providing a top quality creation at a reasonable price.

How does the process work?

The first step in producing a model is, naturally, choosing what kind is to be built. Specifications such as scale-factor, color scheme, and extent of detailing must be determined before construction can begin.

Once a model has been selected, plans must be prepared for construction. CAD files are preferred, but if unavailable, blueprints, photos or other drawings can be used to create a plot layout. A digital wire frame is created which guides our 3D robotic machinery.

Then the artists take over and combine all the various components in flawless finished detail. This is the most time consuming part of the process but also the part where the value is created. A mix of curious parts and raw materials are suddenly turned into complex pieces of art, or better stated Scale Reproductions.

Now that the model is completed, display furniture and packaging are the only things left to take care of. All models are mounted on a solid oak, custom-made base and are enclosed in a ΒΌ" thick glass case for best protection. An acrylic case is also available if it will better suite the needs of the customer. Furniture, such as tables and pedestals, can be designed according to the use of the model. Finally, a shipping crate is built to fit and the model is packaged safely and securely. Now, it's ready for shipment. With this kind of attention to detail, you can always be assured that we will take the extra steps to safely deliver your model anywhere worldwide.

Does Scale Reproductions offer restoration services?

Absolutely! Scale Reproductions offers restoration of antique or broken models, regardless of age, amount of decay, or extent of damage, so that the model can be brought back to top quality.

Does Scale Reproductions only work on custom models?

No, if a client has a particular kit and prefers that it be assembled with the finest attention to detail, we are happy to turn over the job to our craftsmen for a premium quality assembly.

What else can Scale Reproductions do?

Mock-Ups. For example, we've created Scaled Tank Test hulls to confirm soundness of design prior to production of the real vessel, engineering mock-ups to ensure proper function prior to construction and legal models for courtroom demonstration.

What about Shipping?

The expense of shipping is passed along to the customer. However, to insure safe shipment we custom build each shipping crate to the exact fit of each particular project, in house. These crates are sturdy and re-usable. They are the only way to insure safe passage and are a part of the services we provide.
