My name is Bryant Smith, and I am 25 year old web designer in Florida

I've been programming for 14 years (started when I was 11), and doing web design/development since I was 14.  I started the florida web design / web development company at 15, and grew it to a pretty decent size.   Problems with a partner years later (~2003), made me decide to go back to school for a formal education in programming.

Right now I specialize in web programming (PHP/SQL, JavaScript / AJAX), though I am good with a good number of other languages.  I'm also good with the design process [Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, etc..] (I designed a couple of templates a few weeks ago for fun, you can see those in the link above).    I also used to specialize in Search Engine Optimization, and am currently involved with marketing website on the social networks (sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Yahoo Buzz, Propeller etc..). [helping websites drive large amounts of traffic using these sites]   Back when I was running my company, I was ranked #1 for the keywords 'website design' and 'web design florida', as well as a bunch of others.

For the past few years I've been focused on finishing my degree in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University, and now that I am close to graduating I am looking to get back into the industry.

I am currently accepting new projects, so please get in touch with me if you have a web design/programming or marketing project you need some help on; I only take on a limited number of projects at a time, so email me if you have something interesting Laughing

Some of my own sites I created over the years in my spare time...

I created this site so I could have a) have an outlet for random posts and b) to get better with using/modifying Joomla, and how to best use a CMS while still having good SEO compatibility (a problem with many content management systems).

I created this site many years ago, and it still gets a nice amount of traffic. (It started as a hobby)

I actually also used to buy & sell domain names back in the 'Internet Gold Rush' days, so I bought this domain name back when the new Pope was named, and put up a basic site, which gets a respectable amount of traffic considering how simple the site is.

I was reluctant to include this one since it was my 'sandlot' to play around with back in the final years of my previous company; you see I bought the domain after things started going south with my main company, and decided to use it to play around with new ideas.    After the problems occured with the partner, I was left with only this domain name to try to restart things.   It got boring after awhile, and I abandoned this site back around the time I decided to finish my degree (~2003).

I also took it upon myself to learn to develop firefox extensions.  I'm currently working on two when I get the time, but if you have Firefox, and are interested in seeing the absolute basics, you can see it here:

It is a rather simple thing, the concept was to enable web users to simply be able to highlight a word they were unfamilar with, right click, and go to define, and get their definition.   It works great right now, as far as basic functionality goes, but since I'm using someone elses dictionary service (WordNet) as a test base, which only lists the non-plural forms of words, it is limited in that sense.   So install it, find some words that would be in a normal dictionary (non-plural :P), highlight, right-click -> define.

I'm just including this one for kicks, it's a proof of concept for a cutting edge web technologies course I took this semester, far from finished though.

I've designed many websites, and web applicationss for clients throughout the years, I'm electing not to include them simply because I have tried to focus on school these past few years and haven't taken on any real noteworthy projects on the side.   All those that I did consider noteworthy were a few years back, and when it comes to web development, that is an eternity :)

I'm probably forgetting a few things, but that is the gist of it.   I'm still in the process of updating this site, so stay tuned.
